The directorate
of Environmental Information, Communication and Outreach
(DEICO) has the general function of promoting use
of environmental information and technology to facilitate
decision making and awareness raising.
Specifically it is responsible for the following activities:
Manage environmental information systems
Assist
in the incorporation of environmental education
into formal education
Develop and implement national programs on environmental
awareness, communication and outreach
Assist
in mobilizing resources for capacity building in
environmental management at all levels and
Develop and build capacity for environmental accounting.
